Placements24 is seeking a Lead Mining Engineer to spearhead innovative mining strategies for its global operations. This fully remote role focuses on mine planning, design, and optimization to drive efficiency and safety from a home office.

You will lead a team of engineers, implementing advanced technologies and methodologies across international projects, ensuring operational excellence and sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mining engineering, with at least 3 years in leadership.
• Proven expertise in open-pit or underground mining operations and mine design principles.
• Strong proficiency in mine planning software (Deswik, Surpac, Mine2-4D).
• Experience with mine safety regulations and environmental management practices.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive mine plans, including scheduling and resource use.
• Oversee design and optimization of mining methods, equipment selection, and layouts.
• Lead and mentor a team of mining engineers, providing technical guidance.
• Conduct feasibility studies, economic evaluations, and risk assessments for new projects.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Utilize mine modeling and simulation software to visualize and optimize operations.
