Placements24 seeks a Lead Mechanical Project Engineer to run complex mechanical projects remotely. You will lead diverse, distributed teams, manage full project lifecycles, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with high-quality standards.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive stakeholder engagement in a remote-first, global context. A senior, hands-on leader with strong PM and design expertise is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in project management.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (PMI, Agile).
• Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in a remote-first environment and managing distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all phases of mechanical engineering projects, including planning, design, procurement, execution, and closure.
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
• Oversee the mechanical design process, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, codes, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, civil, and controls engineers, as well as external stakeholders and vendors.
• Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to safety regulations throughout project execution.
• Track project progress, provide regular status reports to senior management and clients.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and project team members.
