Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Insurance Risk Analyst to spearhead risk management across the organization. This fully remote role requires expert actuarial knowledge, advanced modeling, and the ability to translate data into strategic insights for senior leadership.

You will lead a team, collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and claims units, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive adoption of new technologies to strengthen the company’s risk framework from your home office.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, finance, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in insurance risk analysis or actuarial roles.
• Proven experience in leading teams and managing complex risk projects.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, risk quantification, and financial forecasting.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, or similar for data analysis.
• Strong understanding of insurance operations, products, and regulatory environments.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, crucial for remote leadership.
• Actuarial designations (e.g., FSA, FCAS) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive risk management frameworks and strategies.
• Lead the analysis of financial, operational, and market risks affecting the insurance portfolio.
• Utilize advanced statistical and actuarial modeling techniques to assess and quantify risks.
• Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and claims teams to ensure integrated risk management.
• Identify emerging risks and recommend proactive mitigation strategies.
• Present complex risk analyses and findings to executive leadership and board members.
• Mentor and guide junior risk analysts, fostering a culture of analytical excellence.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies in risk analysis.
