Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer to guide security initiatives in a fully remote capacity. This senior role requires designing and managing advanced security solutions, leading a team of security engineers, and shaping security practices across the organization.

You will mentor staff, drive innovation in security technologies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security throughout the development lifecycle in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in information security engineering.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical security teams and projects.
• Expertise in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), network security, and cryptography.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for security tasks (e.g., Python, Ansible).
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust security infrastructure, including networks, systems, and applications.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
• Manage and oversee security tools such as SIEM, EDR, IAM, and vulnerability management platforms.
• Drive incident response activities, including analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Mentor and guide a team of information security engineers, fostering their professional growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security throughout the development lifecycle.
