Based conceptually in Randburg, Gauteng, this senior role leads a distributed engineering team and defines architectural direction for scalable, reliable systems.

The role requires 10+ years in electrical engineering with at least 5 years in system architecture or lead design, and strong communication alongside strategic thinking.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in electrical engineering with 5+ years in architecture/lead design.
• Proven experience designing complex electrical systems in relevant industries.
• Strong understanding of modularity, scalability, fault tolerance.
• Experience with simulation, analysis, and modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Define and architect the overall electrical system strategy.
• Lead and mentor a remote team of electrical engineers.
• Develop high-level designs, criteria, and interface specs.
• Oversee creation of detailed design documents and schematics.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and product teams.
• Establish electrical design standards and review processes.
• Identify emerging technologies and advocate adoption.
• Troubleshoot complex system-level issues.
