Placements24 seeks a Lead Industrial Electrical Engineer for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will guide the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems in advanced manufacturing, leading engineers and technicians to technical excellence.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in industrial electrical engineering, deep HV distribution, motor control, PLC/SCADA/DCS expertise, and a proven track record of large-scale projects. Remote-first, flexible work culture.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
10+ years of progressive experience in industrial electrical engineering with leadership roles.
Experience managing large-scale industrial electrical projects.
Deep knowledge of high-voltage distribution, motor control centers, VFDs, and automation.
Proficiency in electrical CAD software and simulation tools.
Knowledge of SA electrical standards and safety regulations.
Strong leadership and remote-team management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead design, specification, and implementation of industrial electrical systems including power distribution and infrastructure.
Oversee integration of automation and control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS).
Develop and maintain electrical schematics, control logic, and system docs.
Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
Manage projects from conception to completion, on-time and on-budget.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and technicians.
Conduct root-cause analysis for electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project management.
Evaluate new electrical technologies to enhance efficiency and safety.
Oversee maintenance strategies and predictive maintenance programs.
