Placements24 is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to helm the design and delivery of major urban infrastructure projects from a remote home office. The role emphasizes project leadership, remote team management, and adherence to municipal standards across South Africa.

The candidate will oversee multidisciplinary teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and liaise with clients and authorities to drive sustainable urban growth. A Pr Eng and 10+ years' leadership in urban civil projects are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Municipal or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 10 years progressive experience in civil engineering, with a strong emphasis on urban infrastructure and project leadership.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
• In-depth knowledge of municipal standards, SANS codes, and environmental legislation relevant to infrastructure development.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil Designer, Watercom.
• Proven ability to lead and manage remote teams effectively.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and maintain high productivity in a remote setting.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design, planning, and execution of comprehensive urban civil infrastructure projects.
• Manage project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and timely delivery of project milestones.
• Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications, and contract documentation for municipal services.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and impact analyses for new developments.
• Oversee the preparation of tender documents and participate in tender evaluations.
• Liaise effectively with clients, municipal authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national, provincial, and municipal regulations and standards.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and intermediate civil engineers.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality control processes.
• Champion innovative design solutions and sustainable engineering practices.
