Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Lead Civil Engineer to spearhead civil design for large-scale solar and wind projects. You will lead a team of engineers, oversee site layouts, foundations, drainage, and access infrastructure from a fully remote setting.

The ideal candidate holds a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering, PrEng registration, and 10+ years of civil experience, with at least 5 years in renewables. Strong leadership and software skills (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS) are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or Science in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• PrEng registration with ECSA is required.
• 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with 5+ years in renewable energy projects.
• Experience leading engineering teams and managing complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and engineering of civil infrastructure for renewable energy projects (solar and wind farms).
• Manage and mentor a team of civil engineers, providing technical guidance and oversight.
• Develop detailed civil designs, including site layouts, grading plans, drainage systems, and foundation designs for turbines and solar arrays.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and environmental impact analyses.
• Collaborate with external consultants, project developers, and construction teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Oversee preparation of technical specifications, tender documents, and construction drawings.
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
• Manage project timelines and budgets related to civil works.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in renewable energy civil engineering.
