Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Chemical Process Development Lead to steer innovation from a home office. You will lead end-to-end development of new chemical processes, from feasibility to pilot testing and commercialization, while guiding a remote team of engineers and scientists.

You should hold a PhD or Master in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years in process R&D, strong expertise in Aspen Plus, gPROMS, and DoE, and demonstrate exceptional leadership and communication for virtual

Qualifications

• PhD or Master in Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in chemical process R&D with scale-up.
• Experience leading complex process development projects.
• Expertise in process simulation software and DoE.
• Leadership of remote technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of new/improved chemical processes to scale-up and commercial readiness.
• Design and oversee lab- and pilot-scale experiments to validate concepts and optimize parameters.
• Use process modeling tools to predict and enhance performance.
• Develop process documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, mass/energy balances, hazard assessments).
• Collaborate with R&D chemists and managers for tech transfer and project execution.
• Mentor remote team of engineers and scientists.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies in chemical process development.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory standards are met.
• Communicate project status and recommendations to senior management.
