This leadership role requires guiding a team of researchers in designing and optimizing novel chemical compounds and processes.

You will set scientific direction, foster innovation, and translate laboratory discoveries into viable commercial products within a fully remote framework.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in chemical research and development, with a strong publication record or patent portfolio.
• Proven experience in leading and mentoring scientific teams, preferably in a remote or distributed setting.
• Expertise in synthetic chemistry, process chemistry, and analytical techniques (NMR, HPLC, GC-MS).
• Strong understanding of scale-up principles and industrial chemical processes.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, project management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a remote R&D team focused on discovery and development of new chemical entities and processes.
• Define research objectives, set project timelines, and ensure rigorous execution of experimental plans.
• Oversee the synthesis, characterization, and scale-up of chemical products, ensuring quality and reproducibility.
• Provide expert scientific guidance on complex chemical challenges and innovative problem-solving.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineering and manufacturing, to facilitate technology transfer.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements and competitive landscape to identify new research opportunities.
• Prepare and present research findings, technical reports, and intellectual property disclosures.
