Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead BIM Coordinator with a strong architectural background to join a fully remote team. You will lead BIM standards, workflows, model coordination, and clash detection across diverse architectural projects, ensuring high-quality documentation and remote collaboration.

The role requires 5+ years of BIM experience, expert Revit/Navisworks skills, BEP development, and the ability to drive coordination in a distributed environment.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of BIM coordination experience on architectural projects.
• Expert proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
• Solid understanding of architectural design principles and construction documentation.
• Experience developing and implementing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
• Familiarity with other BIM software and plugins is advantageous.
• Proven ability to lead coordination efforts in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Knowledge of South African building regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and enforcement of BIM standards, protocols, and best practices for architectural projects.
• Manage and coordinate architectural BIM models from various project stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Conduct regular clash detection and design coordination meetings using tools like Navisworks.
• Develop and maintain BIM execution plans (BEPs) tailored to project requirements.
• Provide technical support and training to architects and designers on BIM software and workflows.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among remote project team members.
• Ensure the quality and integrity of BIM data throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaise with project managers and clients on BIM-related deliverables and progress.
• Stay updated on the latest BIM technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the firm's BIM capabilities.
