Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly competent Remote IT Infrastructure Support Specialist to join a global technology services team. The role focuses on remote troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance of client IT environments, including servers, networks, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

You will work independently in a remote-first setup, ensuring security, stability and performance of critical systems for clients worldwide.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT infrastructure support, systems administration, or network engineering.
• Strong understanding of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting network connectivity, server performance, and application issues.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
• Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Server+, Cloud+, CCNA) are highly desirable.
• Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
• Must be able to work effectively in a fully remote, autonomous environment.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain IT security best practices, including patching and vulnerability management.
• Respond to and resolve IT incidents and service requests in a timely manner according to SLAs.
• Document IT infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Collaborate with other IT teams and external vendors to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Assist with IT infrastructure planning, upgrades, and migrations.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
