Placements24 is seeking a Remote Insurance Claims Specialist to join a fully remote team supporting operations from Richards Bay and beyond. You will manage a portfolio of claims from first notice of loss to settlement with strong communication and analytical skills.

The role requires independence, proficiency with claims software, and effective collaboration with a distributed team to deliver fair outcomes for policyholders across South Africa.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience handling diverse insurance claims.
• Ability to work independently with a remote caseload.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned insurance claims, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct investigations, gather documentation, and assess liability and damages per policy terms.
• Communicate professionally with policyholders, claimants, third-party adjusters, and legal representatives via phone, email, and video.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits and ensure accurate, prompt payments.
• Maintain detailed records of all claim activities in the claims management system.
• Identify potential fraudulent claims and escalate as needed.
