Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Analyst for a fully remote cybersecurity team. The role focuses on monitoring, analyzing, and responding to threats to protect organizational assets, with a hands-on approach to SIEM and EDR tools in a distributed work environment.

The ideal candidate has a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to contribute to a robust security posture while collaborating remotely with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in an information security role, preferably in a SOC environment.
• Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK Stack) and EDR solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems and common vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and system logs for suspicious activities using SIEM and other detection tools.
• Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement timely remediation measures.
• Assist in developing and executing incident response plans and procedures.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and prioritize security weaknesses.
• Stay updated on emerging threats, attack vectors, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Contribute to security awareness training and provide guidance to end-users.
