Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Analyst for a fully remote role. You will focus on threat detection, analysis, and response to safeguard digital assets and maintain security posture.

You will monitor, analyze, and coordinate responses to incidents, while documenting procedures and guiding security controls. Remote, autonomous work is essential, with 5+ years in cybersecurity and strong scripting skills (Python/PowerShell) as assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience considered.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity analysis, threat detection, and incident response.
• Proficiency with SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, EDR solutions, and other security monitoring tools.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common attack vectors.
• Experience with scripting for automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor network and system activity for security breaches, intrusions, and other cyber threats using advanced tools.
• Analyze security alerts, logs, and threat intelligence to identify and prioritize potential security incidents.
• Lead and coordinate the response to security incidents, ensuring effective containment, eradication, and recovery actions.
• Develop and maintain security monitoring procedures and documentation.
• Conduct threat hunting activities to uncover sophisticated and hidden threats within the environment.
• Provide expert guidance and recommendations on security controls and best practices to enhance overall security posture.
