Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Information Security Consultant on a contract basis. You will assess security risks, advise on secure IT designs, and help implement improvements across diverse projects while working remotely from your location.

The role requires deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk assessment, penetration testing, and vulnerability management, with familiarity with GDPR and POPIA.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in information security consulting or advisory roles.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and threat landscapes.
• Expertise in security risk assessment, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with cloud security, data privacy regulations (GDPR, POPIA), and compliance standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Strong communication and client liaison skills, especially remote engagements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and remediation strategies.
• Advise on the design and implementation of secure IT infrastructure and applications.
• Develop and review security policies, standards, and procedures for clients.
• Assist clients in achieving compliance with relevant security regulations and frameworks.
• Provide expert guidance on threat modeling, risk management, and security architecture.
• Deliver technical reports and presentations to stakeholders on security findings and recommendations.
