Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Information Security Consultant for our Centurion-based team. You will assess, design, and implement security strategies, collaborating with multiple departments to identify risks and develop mitigation plans while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

You will guide security technologies, incident response, and privacy compliance, educating staff on best practices in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in information security, consulting, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management methodologies, and compliance standards (e.g., POPIA, GDPR).
• Experience with security architecture design and implementation.
• Relevant certifications such as CISM, CRISC, or CISSP are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments and gap analyses of existing systems and processes.
• Develop and recommend security frameworks, policies, and procedures tailored to organizational needs.
• Advise on the implementation of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption solutions.
• Assist in the development and execution of incident response plans and business continuity strategies.
• Provide expert guidance on data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
• Educate and train staff on security best practices and awareness programs.
