Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned and strategic Remote Information Security Manager to lead cybersecurity initiatives and manage the SOC from anywhere, supporting Mossel Bay operations.

This leadership role develops and executes a comprehensive security strategy, builds a distributed team, ensures protection of information assets, complies with regulations, and fosters a strong security culture through awareness and training.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Information Security, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in managing SOCs and incident response teams.
• Expert knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the cybersecurity strategy and roadmap.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of information security professionals, including SOC analysts and engineers.
• Oversee incident response, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and security operations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant security regulations and standards.
• Manage relationships with third-party security vendors and service providers.
• Promote a strong security culture throughout the organization through awareness programs and training.
