Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes with remote work flexibility. You will analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and drive data-driven improvements across distributed sites, including near Mahikeng, North West.

Core duties include applying lean manufacturing, developing SOPs, tracking KPIs, and collaborating with production and quality teams to boost efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in process improvement and manufacturing operations.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and tools.
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software (Excel, Minitab).
• Experience with ERP systems is beneficial.
• Ability to work remotely and collaborate with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing techniques and data analysis.
• Design and optimize production layouts and material flow to enhance efficiency and safety.
• Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work times and improve labor productivity.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Track and report on KPIs for production efficiency and cost reduction.
• Support new product introductions by ensuring manufacturing processes are robust and scalable.
• Utilize simulation tools to model and evaluate proposed process changes.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders, verbally and in writing.
• Ensure implemented solutions align with company goals and industry best practices.
