Job summary

Placements24 seeks a skilled Mechanical Engineer with HVAC specialization to design, analyze, and optimize heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The role is remote, based in Upington, and focuses on energy-efficient, high-performance environments across diverse projects.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years in HVAC design, strong CAD/CAE skills, and proficiency in HAP, Trace 700, and Revit MEP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer HVAC systems including air handling units, chillers, boilers, ductwork, and piping.
• Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system performance simulations using specialized software.
• Develop detailed design documents, P&IDs, schematics, and specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Select appropriate HVAC equipment and components based on performance, efficiency, and cost criteria.
• Conduct site visits or remote assessments to verify installation and system performance where required.
• Troubleshoot and provide technical support for existing HVAC installations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and energy efficiency regulations.
• Prepare technical reports and present design proposals to stakeholders.
