Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer specialized in HVAC to design, specify, and implement advanced HVAC systems for diverse projects from its Polokwane office. The role combines office collaboration with focused remote work under a hybrid model.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years in HVAC design, and strong CAD experience (AutoCAD, Revit MEP), along with load calculations and energy modeling skills.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical design with HVAC specialization.
• Proficiency in CAD software and HVAC design/analysis tools (HAP, TRACE).
• Strong understanding of codes/standards for HVAC systems (SANS, ASHRAE).
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
• Create detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software.
• Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system performance analysis.
• Select HVAC equipment (chillers, boilers, AHUs, pumps) per project.
• Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and PMs to integrate HVAC.
• Conduct site visits for assessment, installation oversight, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Ensure designs meet energy efficiency targets and regulations.
• Stay updated on HVAC technology, refrigerants, and building automation.
