Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC) to lead the design and execution of complex HVAC systems. The role requires autonomy to manage projects remotely while coordinating with on-site teams and clients.

The ideal candidate will possess 7+ years in HVAC design, strong energy modeling skills, and a PE or CEng registration is highly preferred. Expect opportunities to mentor juniors and drive sustainable building solutions from Centurion, Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering with HVAC focus.
• PE or CEng registration is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of energy efficiency, building codes, and HVAC principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of integrated HVAC systems for diverse building projects.
• Perform load calculations, system sizing, and component selection for HVAC equipment.
• Create HVAC design documentation using CAD and BIM software.
• Conduct energy modeling and simulations to optimize performance and code compliance.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate HVAC within building design.
• Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
• Ensure designs meet building codes and standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Conduct site visits to verify installation and performance.
• Stay updated on HVAC technology and best practices.
