Placements24 seeks a seasoned Senior HVAC Engineer to lead design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in Centurion, South Africa. You will drive energy efficiency, improve occupant comfort, and collaborate with architects, project managers, and operations teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 8+ years of HVAC design experience, and professional engineer registration is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in HVAC design and engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) or Professional Technologist (Pr. Tech Eng) registration is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and psychrometrics.
• Proficiency with HVAC design and simulation software (HAP, Trace 700, Revit MEP).
• Strong project management and client liaison skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify HVAC systems, including AHUs, chillers, boilers, and distribution networks.
• Conduct load calculations, energy modeling, and system performance analyses.
• Develop project plans, cost estimates, and tender documents for HVAC installations.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and testing of HVAC equipment to ensure design compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC system issues with expert technical support.
• Stay abreast of latest HVAC technologies, energy standards, and best practices.
