Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager to lead our HSE program in a remote-first capacity. This role covers multiple locations including Centurion, Gauteng, and emphasizes strong governance, risk mitigation, and environmental stewardship across a dispersed workforce.

You will develop, implement, and manage comprehensive HSE policies and training, ensuring compliance with SA legislation and international standards while fostering a proactive safety

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in HSE management, preferably within mining/industrial sector.
Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, or NEBOSH is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain HSE management systems in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies across sites.
Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with SA health, safety and environmental legislation and permit requirements.
