Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Grid Modernization Engineer to drive the transformation of electrical grid infrastructure in a fully remote role. You will lead strategies for integrating renewables, deploying smart grid tech, and boosting resilience across distributed energy resources.

You will guide a distributed team, shape control systems (SCADA/EMS/DMS), analyze reliability data, and collaborate with regulators to ensure best practices in modernization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with power systems specialization.
• 10+ years in power systems engineering, with 5+ years in grid modernization and smart grid tech.
• Proven track record leading complex engineering projects from inception to deployment.
• Deep knowledge of grid operations, protection, and control strategies.
• Experience with analytics, AI/ML in grid management and cybersecurity for critical infra.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies for grid modernization with smart grid, DERs, and automation.
• Lead design and implementation of grid control systems (SCADA, EMS, DMS).
• Analyze grid data to identify improvements in reliability, efficiency, and stability.
• Collaborate with regulators and partners to ensure compliance and best practices.
• Oversee integration of renewables and energy storage into the grid.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of grid engineers.
