Placements24 is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join a remote team supporting mining projects globally. You will conduct investigations, analyze soil and rock mechanics, and provide design recommendations for mine stability and safety from a home office.

The role requires a Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering with at least 5 years in mining, strong reporting skills, and proficiency in PLAXIS, FLAC, and SLOPE/W.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or closely related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in geotechnical engineering with mining exposure.
• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software and rock/soil mechanics.
• Excellent report writing and remote team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee geotechnical investigations including site characterization.
• Analyze soil and rock properties to assess slope and excavation stability.
• Develop models and provide design recommendations for mine support systems.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation strategies for geotechnical hazards.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and present findings to clients and teams.
• Monitor projects to ensure compliance with geotechnical design requirements.
