Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required with geotechnical specialization.
- 7+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- Experience planning and managing subsurface investigations.
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (Plaxis, GeoStudio) and CAD.
- Familiarity with South African building codes and geotechnical standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct desktop studies and interpret geotechnical data.
- Plan and oversee subsurface investigations, coordinating with remote teams.
- Analyze soil and rock properties to inform foundation design parameters.
- Prepare geotechnical reports detailing findings and recommendations.
- Develop site investigation proposals and cost estimates.
- Discuss findings with clients and regulatory bodies.
- Provide guidance on slope stability and settlement analysis.
- Ensure designs comply with SANS and other codes.
- Collaborate with structural and civil engineers to integrate recommendations.
