Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proficient Geotechnical Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. You will assess ground conditions, analyze soil and rock mechanics, and prepare geotechnical reports for a wide range of construction projects nationwide.

This role offers autonomy from a remote workspace, collaboration via virtual channels, and opportunities to design foundations and manage geotechnical risk for large developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering practice.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software for analysis and modeling (e.g., GeoStudio, PLAXIS).
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and engineering geology.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills, suitable for remote work.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee geotechnical investigations, including site assessments and subsurface explorations.
• Analyze soil and rock properties, groundwater conditions, and seismic data.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports detailing findings, design parameters, and recommendations for foundations, slopes, and earthworks.
• Develop foundation designs, including shallow and deep foundations, for various structures.
• Provide expert consultation on geotechnical risks and mitigation strategies for diverse projects.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies via virtual communication channels.
