Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer for their Centurion office. You will lead investigations, analyze soil and rock data, and design foundations and slopes for infrastructure and buildings.

Collaboration with structural engineers and contractors is essential to integrate geotechnical designs into project plans. The ideal candidate holds a master's degree with geotechnical specialization, PrEng registration, and 7+ years of hands-on experience, using GeoStudio and Plaxis.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with geotechnical specialization.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• At least 7 years of hands-on geotechnical engineering experience.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software (GeoStudio, Plaxis) and geological analysis tools.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise geotechnical investigations, including soil borings, CPTs, and in-situ testing.
• Analyze soil and rock data to determine engineering properties and assess site conditions for construction.
• Design foundations, retaining walls, slope stabilization measures, and other geotechnical structures.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports with clear recommendations and solutions for diverse project challenges.
• Collaborate with structural engineers, architects, and contractors to integrate geotechnical designs into overall project plans in Centurion.
