Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Planner to support FMCG operations remotely with occasional liaison to the Paarl facility. You will plan and optimize transport routes, manage carrier relationships, monitor shipments, and generate performance reports while collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely deliveries.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics planning or transportation management, preferably in the FMCG sector.
Proficiency with logistics planning software and transportation management systems (TMS).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively, with some connection to the Paarl operations.

Responsibilities

Plan and schedule transportation routes and activities to optimize delivery times and costs.
Coordinate with internal teams and external logistics partners to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any potential delays or disruptions.
Manage carrier performance and negotiate favorable rates and terms.
Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities and generate performance reports.
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the FMCG logistics network.
