Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Distribution Planner for a remote role with occasional travel to Soweto, Gauteng. You will optimize distribution routes, coordinate with carriers and warehouses, and monitor inventory to ensure timely deliveries for FMCG products.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Supply Chain/Logistics, strong analytical skills, proficiency with ERP systems and planning software, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or related field.
• Proven experience in distribution planning and logistics coordination, preferably in FMCG.
• Strong understanding of logistics operations, transportation management, and inventory control principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with supply chain planning software, ERP systems, and MS Excel.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize distribution routes and schedules for FMCG products to ensure timely deliveries.
• Coordinate with internal teams, transportation carriers, and warehouse personnel to manage shipment flows.
• Monitor inventory levels across the distribution network and proactively address shortages or overages.
• Identify and resolve logistical issues and disruptions to minimize delays and costs.
• Utilize supply chain planning software and tools to forecast demand and manage transportation capacity.
• Analyze distribution performance metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
