Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a strategic Business Development Executive for a fully remote contract role in South Africa. You will identify opportunities, forge partnerships, and drive commercial expansion across FMCG product lines.

You will analyze markets, negotiate complex deals, collaborate with sales, marketing and product teams, and manage the pipeline to hit growth targets. A strong track record in BD and a South Africa market understanding are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development, partnerships, or corporate development.
• Strong understanding of the South African FMCG market dynamics.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strategic thinking and analytical Capabilities to assess market potential.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects remotely.
• Experience with CRM software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess new market opportunities and potential ventures within the FMCG sector.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for growth and market expansion.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Negotiate and close deals, including partnerships, distribution agreements, and strategic alliances.
• Conduct market analysis and competitor research to identify competitive advantages and opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, product development) to develop tailored solutions for new clients/partners.
• Develop compelling business proposals and presentations.
• Manage the pipeline of new business opportunities and track progress towards targets.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting the FMCG market.
• Represent the company at industry events and conferences (virtually or in-person as needed).
