Placements24 is seeking a Principal Information Security Officer to drive the organization's security strategy in a fully remote SA role. You will lead a distributed team, shape enterprise security programs, and align security with business objectives while managing regulatory compliance.

The role demands deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and exceptional stakeholder influence across executives and business units. A remote-first setup offers flexibility across South Africa.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading information security programs and teams.
• Experience building enterprise security strategies and roadmaps.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute the enterprise-wide information security strategy and roadmap.
• Establish and maintain information security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with objectives and regulations.
• Oversee risk management, vulnerability assessment, and incident response programs across the organization.
• Lead and mentor a team of information security professionals, fostering their growth.
• Collaborate with executive leaders to embed security in strategic initiatives.
• Direct selection, implementation, and management of security technologies and solutions.
• Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations (POPIA, GDPR, etc.).
• Act as primary contact for security matters during audits and inquiries.
• Promote a strong security awareness culture throughout the organization.
• Stay ahead of threats and guide strategic security initiatives.
