Placements24 is recruiting a Chief Information Security Officer for a remote-first role based in South Africa. The CISO will lead enterprise-wide information security programs, reporting to the executive team, and shaping risk management and compliance across the organization.

The role requires a strong security leadership background, advanced degrees, and certifications, with extensive experience in cloud, governance, and incident response.

Qualifikationen

• 10–15 years of progressive information security leadership
• 5+ years in a CISO or equivalent role
• CISSP, CISM, CISO certification or equivalent preferred
• Proven track record in enterprise-wide information security programs
• Deep governance, risk management and compliance knowledge
• Experience leading security operations, threat intel and vulnerability mgmt
• Strong cloud security, network, app security and data protection understanding
• Excellent executive communication and remote team leadership skills

Aufgaben

• Develop and maintain a holistic information security strategy and program
• Establish information security policies, standards and procedures
• Oversee security controls, technologies and processes
• Lead and manage the information security team remotely
• Develop and manage the information security budget
• Oversee incident response, containment and recovery
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, POPIA, ISO 27001 and related laws
• Build relationships with executives, board and stakeholders
• Stay ahead of threats and advise on strategic security investments
• Represent the organization on security matters with regulators and partners
