Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a remote Legal Compliance Specialist for a rapidly expanding fintech client. You will develop and oversee compliance frameworks to meet FAIS, FICA, POPIA and other regulations, while operating fully remotely across the country.

The role emphasizes monitoring regulatory changes, conducting audits, training staff, and advising management on risks. You will collaborate with regulatory bodies and external consultants to strengthen our compliance program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal or regulatory compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of South African financial regulations (FAIS, FICA, POPIA).
• Proven experience developing and implementing compliance programs.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to interpret complex regulations.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures for financial services operations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business.
• Conduct internal audits and risk assessments; identify compliance breaches.
• Advise senior management on compliance best practices and emerging risks.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports to authorities.
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and external consultants.
• Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations (POPIA).
• Provide training on compliance to employees across departments.
• Contribute to development of new products from a compliance perspective.
