Placements24 is seeking a highly diligent Remote Compliance Officer to join our fully remote compliance team in the financial services sector. You will develop and monitor compliant programs and guide staff on regulatory matters.

This role emphasizes risk assessment, internal audits, and keeping up with changes in FICA, POPIA, AML/KYC, with training across departments and reporting to management. Fully remote with flexible hours and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CRCM) is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field within the financial services industry.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant financial regulations (e.g., FICA, POPIA, AML/KYC).
• Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulations clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs and policies.
• Conduct regular compliance training sessions for employees across all departments.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the organization's operations.
• Perform internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance breaches.
• Investigate and resolve compliance issues and alleged violations.
• Prepare and submit required regulatory reports.
• Advise management on compliance-related matters and best practices.
