Job summary

Anglo American seeks a Field Service Technician to support mining equipment maintenance and remote diagnostics across the Rustenburg region. You will coordinate on-site support and provide expert remote assistance to field teams and clients.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills for heavy machinery, proficiency with remote diagnostic tools, and excellent communication to guide technical teams remotely. A Trade Qualification is essential.

Qualifications

Trade qualification (e.g., Fitter, Turner or Millwright) required.
5+ years of field service experience in mining/heavy equipment preferred.
Strong diagnostic skills with remote tools.
Familiarity with heavy mining machinery systems (ex. excavators, drills, crushers).
Excellent communication and ability to guide remote teams.

Responsibilities

Provide remote technical support and diagnostics for mining equipment failures.
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues via remote assistance.
Coordinate and liaise with on-site technicians and clients for timely repairs.
Maintain detailed service logs, repair reports, and spare parts inventory for remote support.
Develop and deliver remote training materials and best practice guides.
Identify recurring issues and provide feedback to engineering for product improvement.
