Bosha Placements is seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic / Field Service Technician to join our Potchefstroom team, serving mining and industrial clients in the North West. The role focuses on on-site repairs, diagnostics, preventive maintenance and dependable customer service.

The candidate will handle engine and hydraulic systems, participate in planned maintenance, and ensure safe, compliant field operations. On-site servicing includes standby duties and after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

• Qualified Red Seal Diesel Mechanic.
• Minimum 3 years’ post-trade experience in mining, construction, or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Field Service experience required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Experience with major engine brands (Cummins, Deutz, CAT, Perkins).

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site repairs, servicing, maintenance, and breakdown support.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, drivetrains, and related equipment.
• Remove and install engines and machine components.
• Conduct pre-use inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Complete detailed service reports and communicate with supervisors and customers.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Plan and organize jobs efficiently.
• Represent the company professionally on customer sites.
• Be available for standby duties, overtime, and after-hours breakdowns.

Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified, experienced, and self-motivated Diesel Mechanic / Field Service Technician to join our Potchefstroom team. The successful candidate will provide field service support to mining and industrial customers, conducting repairs, servicing, diagnostics, installations, and preventative maintenance to ensure maximum equipment availability and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site repairs, servicing, maintenance, and breakdown support.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, drivetrains, and related equipment.
• Remove and install engines and machine components.
• Conduct pre-use inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Complete detailed service reports and maintain communication with supervisors and customers.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain effective housekeeping and environmental standards.
• Plan and organize jobs efficiently.
• Represent the company professionally on customer sites.

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualified Red Seal Diesel Mechanic.
• Minimum 3 years' post-trade experience in mining, construction, or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Field Service experience required.

Experience Working On:

• Forklifts, Telehandlers, Yellow Machines, and more.

Preference given to candidates with experience on Underground Scoops, Dump Trucks, Drill Rigs, and more.
