Placements24 is seeking a qualified Family Support Counsellor for a fully remote role serving families in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. You will deliver counselling and support to families facing marital, parenting, and behavioural challenges via telehealth. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work, HPCSA registration, and 3–5 years of family therapy experience. Strong interpersonal, ethical judgment, and remote-session skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field.
• Registration with HPCSA as a registered counsellor or psychologist.
• 3–5 years of clinical experience in family therapy or counselling.
• Expertise in family systems theory and evidence-based counselling techniques.
• Proficiency in tele-health platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams) and electronic record-keeping.

Responsabilités

• Remote assessment of family dynamics and needs.
• Provide individual, couples, and family counselling via video/phone.
• Develop and implement tailored intervention plans.
• Lead psychoeducational sessions on communication and parenting.
• Help families develop coping and problem-solving skills.
• Coordinate with external agencies for comprehensive support.
