Job summary

Optimal Maintenance & Construction is seeking an Estimator / Surveyor to prepare detailed quotations, assess project scope and costs, and work with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure new business. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure competitive pricing and profitable delivery, maintaining strong client communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in Construction & Refurbishment: background in property maintenance, residential/commercial refurbishments, or construction.
• Industry knowledge: understanding of quoting to project delivery workflows and client expectations.
• Commercially driven: ability to manage project costs, quotes, and drive revenue via client management.
• Excellent communicator: clear and professional in writing and over the phone with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Highly organised: capable of handling multiple quotes and schedules with accuracy.
• Tech‑savvy: proficient with CRM systems, scheduling platforms, and Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engaging with clients to encourage quotation opportunities and secure requests for quotations.
• Write and issue desktop quotation by obtaining information to minimise costs.
• Attend site visits for quote scoping.
• Write and issue clear, itemised quotes using CRM system.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost competitiveness.
• Follow up on outstanding quotes to improve conversion rates.
• Coordinate materials, access arrangements, and client communications.
• Act as single point of contact for the client throughout the job lifecycle.
• Conduct quality checks and provide job summaries to clients as required.
