Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Environmental Scientist to support mining compliance across multiple sites. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, developing EIAs, monitoring performance, and reporting to stakeholders.

The ideal candidate holds at least a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field, has 4+ years of experience in environmental management, and can work autonomously with strong communication and data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in environmental management, preferably within the mining or resource sector.
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation and permitting processes relevant to mining.
• Experience with environmental monitoring techniques and data analysis.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
• Proficiency in relevant environmental software and GIS tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage environmental management plans and systems for mining operations.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and assist with permitting processes.
• Monitor environmental performance, including air quality, water quality, and waste management, and analyze data.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and local environmental legislation and regulations.
• Prepare comprehensive environmental reports, audits, and compliance documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site personnel on environmental best practices.
