Placements24 is seeking a strategic Remote Environmental Manager to oversee environmental compliance and sustainability across mining operations. This fully remote role requires influencing diverse site teams via virtual channels while driving EMS implementation and regulatory adherence.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in environmental management within mining, strong knowledge of environmental legislation, and proven ability to drive performance improvements from a distance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in environmental management, with mining exposure.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation, permitting, and EIA procedures.
• Experience with EMS (ISO 14001) and remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage EMS across all mining sites remotely.
• Ensure compliance with national and local environmental laws and permits.
• Oversee monitoring programs for water, air, and waste.
• Conduct remote audits and risk assessments with mitigation plans.
• Prepare EIAs and EMPs for new projects and operations.
• Promote environmental culture through remote training and engagement.
• Report performance to senior management and regulators.
