Placements24 seeks an Environmental Scientist to join a fully remote team focused on mining compliance and sustainability. You will analyze environmental data, develop mitigation strategies, and prepare regulatory reports while collaborating with internal teams and external agencies.

Ideal candidates have a Master’s degree in a related field, at least 5 years of mining environmental management experience, and strong communication skills for remote collaboration across borders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in environmental management, with mining focus.
• In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks relevant to mining.
• Experience with EIAs and environmental monitoring techniques.
• Proficiency in environmental data analysis and reporting tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess environmental impacts of mining operations (water, air, land).
• Develop and implement environmental management plans and monitoring programs.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports and permit applications to regulators.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental laws and standards.
• Conduct environmental risk assessments and recommend mitigations.
• Collaborate with site operations to promote sustainable practices.
