Placements24 seeks an Energy Market Analyst to join its fully remote strategy team. The role focuses on building predictive models and analyzing large datasets to uncover trends that inform trading decisions.

You will forecast prices, analyze diverse data sources, and translate findings into actionable insights, collaborating with traders and other analysts to shape energy market strategy.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of data analysis and modeling experience, with focus on energy markets or financial modeling.
• Proficiency in Python or R, with libraries for data manipulation, statistics, and ML (Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
• Experience with SQL and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Deep understanding of energy commodity markets (gas, power, renewables).
• Strong problem-solving and remote-work capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced statistical and machine learning models to forecast energy prices and market movements.
• Analyze large, diverse datasets from market data, weather, economics, and regulatory news to identify drivers.
• Design and conduct deep-dive analyses into specific energy market segments and emerging trends.
• Communicate complex analytical findings clearly through reports and visualizations.
