Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Remote Energy Trading Analyst to join a globally distributed trading desk. The role focuses on analyzing energy market data, building models, and supporting trading strategies across electricity, gas, and derivatives from a fully remote location.

You will work with a team of quantitative analysts and developers, leveraging Bloomberg/Refinitiv data and Python/R tools to forecast prices, assess risk, and identify opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in energy trading, financial analysis, or a related role.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proven experience in statistical modeling and data analysis.
• Proficiency with market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv) and analytical tools (e.g., Python, R, Excel VBA).
• Excellent understanding of energy markets, trading principles, and risk management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze real-time energy market data, including pricing, supply, demand, and weather patterns.
• Develop and maintain predictive models to forecast energy prices and market trends.
• Identify and evaluate arbitrage and trading opportunities in electricity, natural gas, and related derivatives.
• Support the execution of trading strategies by providing timely analysis and recommendations to the trading team.
• Monitor open trading positions, manage risk exposure, and report on trading performance.
• Collaborate with quantitative analysts and developers to enhance trading tools and algorithms.
