Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a remote Automotive Software Developer specializing in Embedded Systems to join a distributed engineering team. You will design, develop, and test embedded software for automotive applications, including infotainment, ECUs, and ADAS, using C/C++ and RTOS.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of embedded experience, familiarity with Linux/QNX, CAN/LIN, Automotive Ethernet, Git, and SDLC/agile practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming languages.
• Experience with embedded operating systems (e.g., Linux, QNX, RTOS).
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and build systems.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain embedded software for automotive systems using C/C++.
• Develop software for microcontrollers and embedded processors commonly used in automotive ECUs.
• Implement and optimize software components for real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Create and execute unit tests and integration tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues found during development and testing phases.
• Collaborate effectively with remote team members through virtual communication tools and agile methodologies.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Contribute to the definition of software architecture and system design for new automotive features.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in automotive embedded systems software development.
• Document software designs, implementation details, and testing procedures clearly and comprehensively.
