Placements24 is seeking a skilled Remote Automotive Software Engineer to join their product development team in South Africa. You will design, develop, and deploy software for embedded automotive systems, collaborating with hardware engineers and product managers from a home office.

The role requires 3+ years in embedded software, proficiency in C/C++, Python or Java, RTOS experience, and familiarity with CAN/LIN or Automotive Ethernet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience with embedded systems or automotive software.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python, or Java.
• Experience with RTOS and embedded systems development.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet) is a plus.
• Strong SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software for automotive embedded systems and applications.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, system architects, and product managers using remote collaboration tools.
• Write clean, well-documented, maintainable code adhering to coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure software quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects reported from testing or production environments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes and methodologies.
• Stay current with emerging automotive technologies and software engineering best practices.
