Placements24 is seeking a talented Remote Automotive Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy software for next-generation vehicles from your home office in Mossel Bay or anywhere remote.

You will collaborate with a global team, work on embedded automotive software, and contribute to ADAS/infotainment systems while applying C++, C, Python, and Java in a structured SDLC with RTOS experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, EE, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience in embedded or automotive contexts.
• Proficient in C++, C, Python, or Java.
• Experience with CAN, LIN or Ethernet automotive networks.
• Familiar with RTOS and SDLC methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust software components for automotive control systems, infotainment, or ADAS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and product managers, in an agile environment.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices in software engineering.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and integrating feedback into your own work.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects and performance issues in simulated and real-world environments.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection for future automotive software development.
