Placements24 seeks a Remote Automotive Software Engineer in South Africa to develop in-car infotainment and connectivity software. Work with a global team on cutting-edge automotive tech, from anywhere in SA, with a remote-first setup.

The role focuses on embedded/app development, C++, Python, or Java, and demands collaboration with hardware, UX, and product teams to shape software architecture and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in CS, software engineering, or a related field.
• Professional experience in software development, with embedded systems or application development.
• Strong programming skills in C++, Python, or Java with OO design.
• Familiarity with AUTOSAR or embedded Linux is a plus.
• Experience with SDLC methodologies, including Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement software for automotive infotainment systems and connectivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and architecture.
• Write clean, well-documented code and manage version control.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure quality.
• Troubleshoot and debug software issues and implement timely solutions.
• Contribute to remote-first development processes and tooling.
