Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in industrial power distribution for a fully remote role. You will design, develop, and implement robust electrical systems for industrial facilities, including schematics, panel layouts, and power delivery, collaborating with site engineers and project managers to ensure safe, reliable operations.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and minimum 6 years of industrial electrical design experience,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 6 years in industrial electrical design and power distribution.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar ECAD.
Knowledge of medium/low voltage systems and industrial automation.
Experience with power system analysis software is advantageous.
Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical systems for industrial facilities, including power distribution, motor control, and lighting.
Create detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel layouts using CAD software.
Specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and VFDs.
Conduct site assessments and provide remote technical support for installation and commissioning activities.
Perform power system studies, including load calculations, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry codes, standards (e.g., SANS, IEC), and safety regulations.
